Kick start for UK property market in January

The latest data from the Agency Express Property Activity Index, reveals a kick start to the year as the UK property market gained momentum in January. National month on month figures for properties ‘Sold’ sat at 41.2% while new listings ‘For Sale’ sat at a robust 104.9%.

This months regional hot spots were East Anglia and the North West, both recording buoyant increases following several months of decline in 2017.

Commenting on the latest index results, Stephen Watson, Managing Director of Agency Express said:

Towards the end of last year the index highlighted wide spread declines in both properties ‘For Sale’ and ‘Sold’ across the UK, with some regions seeing the downward trend beginning in July. Now just a month in to the New Year the figures have turned a corner and year on year figures have exceeded those recorded in 2017.
