Lettings activity slows in July

July’s data from the Agency Express Property Activity Index has revealed a slowdown in lettings activity across the UK. National month on month figures for properties ‘Let’ sat at -1.4% while ‘To Let’ figures fell to -2.7%.

Out of the twelve regions recorded by the Property Activity Index six recorded increases for the month. This months top performer was the North East whilst the largest declines were made in Yorkshire and Humberside.

Commenting on the Property Activity Index Lettings Report, Stephen Watson Managing Director of Agency Express said:

This month we have seen slower movement throughout UK lettings market but declines are expected during the summer holiday period. While we do expect to see some increases in August we don’t envisage a real pickup in activity until September.
