New property listings slowdown pre-lockdown
Following a uprising robust property market in September, the latest data from the Agency Express Property Activity Index has revealed a slowdown in pace throughout October.
While a seasonal adjustment is expected the index has revealed that figures are down year on year with properties ‘Sold’ at -0.1% and new listings ‘For Sale’ at -12.7%.
Of the twelve regions recorded by the Property Activity Index, all twelve reported declines in new listings ‘For Sale’ while six regions reported increases in properties ‘Sold’.
Commenting on the latest index results, Ben Brookes, Managing Director of Agency Express said:
Activity in October can fluctuate so this months figures come as no surprise. Following a three month spike across May, June and July, year on year figures are now back on trend, but with levels of activity slowing, a national lockdown and general caution across the nation, it will be interesting to see how the seasonal slowdown compares to years previous. Agents are still open and we are still working, but will the public be enticed to move.
