Agency Express Telford & Stafford
Stuart Knight became a franchisee in 2015. Having worked in several manual and office-based roles Stuart felt it was time to take control of his future and set his sights on becoming his own boss. His investigation began at the National Franchise Exhibition where he discovered the Agency Express van-based franchise.
After much consideration and research Stuart decided that the Agency Express opportunity was the most compelling route to take due to the low start-up cost and the split of work between manual labour and administration.
A lot of franchises require you to have a previous trade or have a vast amount of money to invest into the business. The Agency Express model caught my eye because it can fit people from most backgrounds and the start-up costs were competitive.
After successfully completing a comprehensive training course at the Agency Express Head Office he was then assisted in the launch of his new business. This included a 3-day programme of visits to estate agencies in his local area, enabling him to introduce himself and his services to potential and existing customers.
The Agency Express training programme has been tried and tested over many years. It gives you all the tools necessary to start work from day one, including the manual and administrative aspects of running your business. As for ongoing help, you simply cannot question the support given by HQ.
Today Stuart runs a success territory which continues to grow year on year. The key to Stuarts success has been his unrelenting work ethic, his communication skills and not being afraid to ask for help when he needed it.
Building up a business is a challenge, it takes time, patience, and resilience. You need to work hard and keep the same work ethic come rain or shine. There is a saying in business “Turnover is vanity, Profit is sanity” so the biggest highlight for me was seeing my first profit, it is also great when you win a new customer. The advice I would give to new franchisees is communicate. Your immediate franchise neighbours have a wealth of knowledge and support to offer you, get to know them. Get to know the customers you work for; be a face they recognise and pop in when you don’t need to just to say hello.
